Message Larger turbos manipulate a larger volume of air.
The popular BOVs on the market can only vent so much through such a small valve (roughly 1.5 inches in diameter), you cannot vent all the air in the intake tract.

The more air you can expel, the less reversion (compressor surge). The longer your turbine life, the better between shift boost resonse.

TwinTurboPete generates SO much air pressure and volume with his TD06s, that he experiences SEVERE compressor surge between shifts. His BOVs are like thimbles compared to what they need to be.

I never looked at your profile, but considering your mods path to date, I can assume you are not looking at using stock turbines.
